Electrification trends in agriculture

07. Oct 2024
Company News

Although a slow start, agriculture is gradually carving out a respectable role among the sectors that see electrification as the way forward. The growing awareness of environmental issues, followed by increasingly strict anti-pollution laws, and the constant progress of modern technology make more and more producers look with interest at electrification.

The European agricultural sector is among the emerging markets for the electric transition, which has already begun for many applications, such as straddle tractors, feed mixers and urban landscaping machinery, and continues to grow.

In this article published in the New PowerProgress international magazine, our battery partner @Flash Battery was asked to share its point of view as an industry specialist, dealing every day with one of the main cornerstones of this technological revolution, lithium batteries.

As a matter of fact, lithium electrification offers the agricultural world great opportunities such as:

- environmental protection with zero noise and zero emissions

- reduced maintenance and operating costs

- Highest technology advances

"The agricultural machinery industry is investing more and more resources into electrification. Just think of the evolution in terms of the skills that research and development teams need to deal with. First they were used to internal combustion engines and hydraulic equipment, now they need to work with batteries, inverters, electric motors, CAN-bus systems, among others.Flash Battery has always managed to guarantee the highest safety level by working on three key aspects: choosing the right lithium chemistry, a proprietary control electronics, and the correct assembly of the battery pack".
