ZAPI S.p.A. was founded in the mid-1970s by Gianno Zanichelli, an engineer and entrepreneur who was highly motivated to invest in elctronic motion control at a time when its enormous potential was visible only to a few. They started in Poviglio, near Reggio Emilia and Parma, in the heart of Northern Italy, and today are a global presence with a global commercial and technical network of independent companies, subsidiaries and dealers.

The ZAPI Group includes its core business, ZAPI (electronic controllers), in addition to a number of other companies: BEST Motor (electric motors), ZTP (spare-parts, joysticks, technical assistance), ZIVAN (batterycharger), Schabmüller (electric drive motors), Inmotion (inverter, electric motors) (Delta-Q (batterycharger) and its latest acquisition: Bluebotics (autonomous navigation technology).

In addition to the launch of the new website www.zapigroup.com in 2022, the logo was also redesigned.
