Lithium batteries are now used in many different applications, ranging from off-highway machinery through to agricultural vehicles, aerial platforms, airport ground support and marine. This means that the battery must be able to function properly in any climate.
In this article with Diesel Progress International, Marco Righi, CEO and founder of our partner Flash Battery, talked about the fundamental role of thermal management to ensure the correct functioning and the total operating lifetime of a battery.
The implementation of a heating system, for example, is highly recommended as it guarantees good battery operation in all climatic conditions, thus enabling users to work with confidence even in colder climates. On the other hand, the choice of integrating a cooling system is mainly suggested for intensive use applications working in warm countries, where battery stress levels are high, increasing the internal temperature.
